The Final Scripture

Islam teaches that the final messenger Mohammad also received the final divine revelation, the Quran. It is guidance and a reminder for humankind.

The Quran unlike other religious scriptures has not suffered any changes to it even after more than 1,400 years. This is because the Creator has promised himself to protect his last scripture from change.

We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).”
(Quran 15:9)

Many hundreds of thousand of people have memorized the entire Quran word for word since it was revealed. To this day it is common for Muslims to memorize the entire Quran by heart. It is therefore not difficult to see how the Quran has been preserved from change in this unique and miraculous way.

In this present age, more and more scientific facts are being discovered in the Quran, facts which it seems could not possibly be ordinarily known by a man living in the desert in seventh-century Arabia. For example, the Quran describes stages of the embryo developing at a microscopic level with such startling accuracy that a world authority on embryology, Professor Keith L. Moore, had this to say on the matter during an international medical conference held in Ciaro, Egypt.*

“…Mohammad could not have known these facts about human development in the seventh century because most of them were not discovered until the twentieth century.

Muslims and others are justified in concluding that these facts could only have been revealed to Mohammad by the one who knows all about us, not only about how we developed but how we live and function.”

*Video recordings of this and other statements made by Professor Moore can be easily found online.
